Midnight TONIGHT: Worst Breakup EVER Zine Submission Deadline

Happy post-VDay. Hope you can make it through your candy heart and pink champagne hangovers long enough to send your submissions tonight.

MIDNIGHT TONIGHT 2/15 is zero hour for submissions for the Worst Breakup Ever zine. Prose should be 500-1200ish words, image files should fit into the standard half 8 1/2 by 11 zine size and be (preferably) JPEGs. No PDFs puhlease. Send submissions to selfpublishersofchicago@gmail.com
Reminder: selected submissions will be read/performed at our Anti-Valentine Heart Wrencher Night (2/26, 7:30 pm @ Uncharted Books). It’s being sponsored by Radio One Chicago, which is pretty exciting.
If you’re burning the midnight oil and have a submission still simmering by late tonight, just shoot us an e-mail and we’ll work with you on an extension if necessary. Thanks to everyone who’s already submitted! Should be an amazing project.

Deadline for Dictionary Zine Submissions: 2/26

miesvanderIn anticipation for Chicago Zine Fest in March, we’re going to start working on our next collaborative zine, a Chicago dictionary of sorts. Check out the graphics above and below for a great example of what we’re looking for.

Looking for an idea of the kind of artwork we’re looking for? Anything in the style of a black and white dictionary illustration!

Have anything that might fit? We’re looking for our multitalented SPOCsters to come up with some snappy, Chicago-centric, witty definitions as well as black and white illustrated artwork that can accompany the entries.

The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, February 26 at MIDNIGHT sharp. Please send all entries to selfpublishersofchicago@gmail.com. Illustrations should be JPEGs and written entries should be .doc files. Huzzah! Looking forward to what you guys send in.

Call for Submissions: BODY IMAGE ZINE

Jonas Cannon, our very own SPOCster and zinester of Cheer the Eff Up fame, is taking submissions for a new zine all about body image issues. Jonas and his pal CJ are accepting it all: comics, stories, photography, “anything that you feel captures your thoughts and experiences about body image.”

Jonas and company are taking submissions up until April 1. Send your work to bubba.mahoney@gmail.com. Get more details here.
