This December, Self-Publishers of Chicago (SPoC) pays tribute to a different kind of folk hero: the Sales Associate. Join us at Uncharted Books on 12/22 for an evening of retail-Inspired horror stories, tall tales, and filthy slander– all reported directly from the trenches.

In the spirit of commerce, we’ll also be selling copies of a collaborative zine Tribute to the Sales Associate: A Folk Hero for the 21st Century, featuring the written work that night’s performers (and others).

It’s not too late to be featured in our zine Tribute to the Sales Associate. Submit your story to SPoC by December 16th. We’ll take drawings, lists scrawled onto receipt paper, and images of other artifacts found along the way. The stranger the better.

Free jug wine at 7pm. Show starts at 7:30pm.

We’re hosting our next reading at Uncharted on Sunday, February 16 at 7:30 p.m. Here are the deets: 
 
For February, Self-Publishers of Chicago explores the most abstract of emotions: love. But, like, love of a person, a cheeseburger, a town, any adoration that fully encompasses and swallows one up!

Come a bit a early (around 7) and indulge in some candy treats and swap sweet missives at the SPOC Valentine card station. Is SPOC your zine sweetheart? Drop us a love note in our decorated box and let us know you care.
