Hey y’all! Hope you enjoyed the flurry of activity during Chicago Zine Fest. It was great seeing so many of you at our On & Off the Road reading last Sunday. We had an amazing turn out and hosted zinesters from far away and near places.
Pack your bindles full! Zinesters of near and far will close out this weekend’s Chicago Zine Fest events tonight 3/16 with a reading at Uncharted Books starting at 7:30 p.m.

The big day has finally arrived! The exhibition for Chicago Zine Fest 2014 is TOMORROW, Sat. 3/15 from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. at Columbia College’s Conaway Center. SPOC will be on the first floor at table 15 so come by, say hi and check our wares.
We’ll be peddling some of our older collaborative zines as well as new work from our talented SPOCsters. Wondering about our Chicago Dictionary zine? We got some amazing definitions the first go-around but we are taking a second round of submissions in anticipation for a release for our 2nd BIRTHDAY in APRIL. That’s right. To add to the whirlwind of Chicago Zine Fest, Self-Publishers of Chicago (SPOC) offers a sampler of writers/artists/zinesters of near and far. It all goes down at Uncharted Books next Sunday 3/16 at 7:30 p.m. Get some post-fest rest, eat an energy bar, close out the weekend with us! Many readers are showcasing new work from CZF.

This Sunday, 1/19, we’ll be having a meeting/hang out sesh over at
Knockbox (Augusta and California) from 4 – 6ish p.m. Stop on by, have
a cup of coffee, bring whatever you’re working on and come armed with
ideas for new workshops, zines, etc.
In anticipation for Chicago Zine Fest in March, we’re going to start
working on our next collaborative zine, a Chicago dictionary of sorts.
Mies van der Whoa: (exclamation) A declaration shouted upon viewing a
skyscraper in the Loop, usually by a tourist but occasionally by
Chicago resident without a white collar job. Caused by the visual
amazement by a large monolith rising above oneself.
Ex. The Inland Steel building had me letting out a Mies van der Whoa.
Have anything that might fit? We’re looking for our multitalented
SPOCsters to come up with some snappy, Chicago-centric, witty
definitions as well as artwork. We’ll chat more about the zine at
