On the Road Again + April Events!

Hey all. It’s SPOC! We’re still here, doing what we do. With the renewal of the (finally) Chicago spring, we’ve got a lot in the works. Here’s what’s in store this month:

 Stamens & Pistils Zine Roadshow:

SPOCsters Nicki Yowell and Meghan McGrath will bring Chicago publishing wiles to Cleveland and Buffalo this weekend. We’ve got a reading this Thursday 4/3 at Guide to Kulchur in Cleveland. That following Saturday and Sunday 4/5 and 4/6 we’ll be tabling our hearts out at Buffalo Small Press Book Fair.

And that’s not all! We’ll be reading in Gainesville at the Civic Media Center on 4/18, in Bloomington Indiana at Boxcar Books on 5/9 and atLexington Ephemera Fest 5/10. Care to get on the zine tour train? Get in touch! RSVP to the zine tour event page and keep up on where we’re at!

We’re celebrating our second birthday in style this year with a birthday party reading! Cake, drinks and literature, all of your major needs shall be sated. Stay tuned for a date for the revelry but we’re shooting for late April, early May at Uncharted Books. The theme will be CELEBRATION. Appropriate, eh? Shoot us a note if you care to read/perform.

Chicago Dictionary Zine

You may have caught wind of the production of our awesome Chicago dictionary zine, filled with completely unique terms like: charritory, tempamorphosis, Bridgeportly, Ventra-loquist and, yes, Mies van der Whoa. Our new deadline for content is APRIL 23 @ Midnight. Send us definitions, images, the works.

Want to be a part but stumped on ideas? Fear not, Chicago bretheren. We are hosting a brainstorming session/party on Tuesday, April 15 at the Masonic Lodge starting at 7:30 p.m. Come for snackery and incessant Chicago jokery. E-mail us for the address.

As always, check out our blog and Facebook for updates and stay SPOCly, darlings.
